Muscle Cramp? Will Magnesium Help?
Muscle Cramp!
Oh No! A word that strikes fear into everyone that has experienced that tightening of the muscle followed terrible PAIN!
What are Muscle Cramps?
Technical literature describes a cramp — as an involuntary contraction of a muscle that doesn’t then relax – well with that much pain — I would not choose it and it wouldn’t be voluntary is what I can say!
When I exercise hard– after being not very active for days, I usually get a muscle cramp.
If you reviewed the scientific literature on cramps– you would find that “they have still not found a way to cure it,” and the cause is still described as “unknown”.
A well read doctor may tell your that — muscle cramps are is made worse by the lowering of sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium salt levels in our bodies due primarily to exercise and dehydration — lack of drinking enough good clean water.
So you get a Cramp:
1. Stop the activity — if you can, and you are not participating in sport activity.
2. try a little Gentle stretching and massage the cramping muscle with your hands or get a friend to help you do it.
3. Spray on Magnesium Oil
On the Magnesium web sites — they swear by taking transdermal Magnesium every day. It is cheap and also reduces regular muscle and joint pain.
Introduce Magnesium Transdermally to Replenish
Magnesium can be introduced into the body in many ways. One of the most powerful is intraveneously, but this approach is only through treatment by health care professionals, and is painful due to the quantity entering the body so concentrated. Another approach, far more gentle yet effective, is to introduce magnesium transdermally to replenish the body’s supply of this vital nutrient.
According to Dr. Ronald Hoffman, “patients with low magnesium who take just oral supplements do not normalize”. Transdermal magnesium therapy does speed up the process, bringing up the body’s magnesium level nearly as much as intravenous methods.
How do we provide this magnesium through transdermal use? One of the most recommended methods is with magnesium oil. Not truly an oil, more of a salt, magnesium oil is inexpensive and safe to use. Another method is a magnesium salt bath. Are we talking about an excessive amount of salt? No, it’s not table salt, that’s sodium. We’re talking about magnesium salts. Transdermal magnesium is found to be moisturizing and hydrating as well, and penetrates the skin quickly and easily.
Transdermal Magnesium: Restoration and Rejuvenation
According to Dr. Carolyn Dean, the author of “The Miracle of Magnesium”, magnesium chloride is a powerful, versatile medicine that boosts almost all aspects of cell physiology, and “is what you want around if you are having a heart attack or stroke”.
Magnesium is a basic mineral supplement that can be used orally, intravenously, or transdermally. “It’s a systemic medicine as well as a local one bringing new life and energy to the cells wherever it is applied”.

Magnesium Chloride for Optimal Health
In his book, Transdermal Magnesium Therapy, published in 2007, Dr. Mark Sircus discusses the relative value of magnesium chloride versus magnesium sulfate. He devotes an entire chapter to this topic.
He states clearly that magnesium chloride is the transdermal magnesium of choice for individuals interested in optimal health. He explains in detail why magnesium chloride is best recognized, assimilated, and utilized in the body.
I highly recommend his book, you will certainly gain greater knowledge of your health, fitness, and the effects of mg for optimal health, but you don’t need to read it in order to gain the benefits of magnesium chloride. Visit: http://www.subtleenergytherapy.org/
